A. Buy a new Aircel SIM and fill Customer Enrollment Form (CEF) and Mobile Number
Portability (MNP) form
.Submit both the forms with other required documents with the
retailer or at any Aircel store.
  
B.SMS 'Port XXXX (10 digit existing mobile number)' to 1900 from your current mobile
number and get an 8 digit code through SMS.Please share the code with the retailer
or Aircel store executive.
  
C.You will immediately receive an SMS confirming port order. *Later, you will receive another
SMS confirming the date and time of porting. At the scheduled date and time replace your old
SIM with your new Aircel SIM and dial '123'. Then do an applicable recharge to enjoy Aircel services
on your current number.

*For Prepaid, on the 5th day customer gets an SMS confirming porting approval or rejection. On 6th or 7th day the change request gets executed under advance intimation to the customer regarding date and time of transfer. On the specified date and time, customer's existing operator deactivates the SIM and new Aircel SIM gets activated with existing number and customer receives a 'Welcome' SMS on new Aircel SIM. Maximum 7 days(15 days in J&K, Assam, & NorthEast) will be taken to complete the porting process and maximum 2hours for disconnection of existing operator SIM and activation of Aircel SIM. For postpaid, before porting the customer will have to clear outstanding bill with existing service provider. Timeline of 7days (15 days in J&K, Assam & North East) for port-in to Aircel is excluding Sundays and National/Government holidays.

steps to move your mobile number to airtel
 
1.To begin with, you need to generate UPC (Unique Porting Code) by sending SMS to 1900. UPC is an alphanumeric code allocated, upon request, by a mobile operator to its subscriber for the purpose of facilitation of porting of his/her mobile number to another operator.
 • SMS to be sent : PORT <your Mobile Number> to 1900. Operator SMS charges will be applicable.
• Eg. SMS PORT 98XXXXXXXX to 1900
2.After sending SMS to 1900, you will receive UPC (Unique Porting Code) as a SMS from 1901 giving 8 digit alpha-numeric Unique Porting Code (UPC) and UPC expiry date in MM/DD/YYYY format
3.Visit your nearest airtel outlet / showroom
4.Fill airtel Mobile Number Porting (MNP) form providing details like
 • Current Mobile Number
• Current Operator name
• UPC code
5.Submit Address & Id proof documents, self-attested photo and last bill copy of postpaid connection (if applicable) along-with filled MNP form and Customer Agreement Form.
6.Buy the airtel MNP SIM card from airtel outlet / showroom. SIM charges, talktime value and porting charge are non-refundable in the event of cancellation / rejection of port-in request.
7.airtel will send an SMS on your old/existing operator’s SIM (existing connection) intimating about the porting date and time, i.e. the date and approximate time till when you can continue to use your existing operator’s SIM card.
8.There will be a 2-hour ‘no service period’ which will begin after the porting time as given above. The ‘no service period’ will be between 12 midnight to 5 am during which your mobile service will not be active on any SIM. All efforts will be made to ensure that this ‘no service period’ causes minimum inconvenience to you.
9.After the ‘no service period’, you can replace your existing operator’s SIM card with the new airtel SIM card in your handset.

Mobile Number Portability (MNP) is a service offered by all mobile service providers that allows you to switch over to another service provider while retaining your existing mobile phone number. So now you can join the exciting world of Vodafone keeping the number you’ve always had.

You are free to choose a new mobile service provider without having to change to a new number. You don’t have to notify friends/ family and associates about your new operator when you move to Vodafone or any other operator. Just use your phone like you always do.

What is porting of numbers ?
Porting of numbers is the actual switching of a mobile operator/ mobile service provider without having to change one’s mobile number. However, only active mobile numbers can be ported, so you do not have your number disconnected before porting.

What are the charges for porting a number to Vodafone?
The charges are Rs 19.

How long does it take to port a number?
The entire process of porting takes approximately 6 days. The exceptions are J&K, Assam & the North Eastern regions where it will take 10 days from the receipt of porting clearance from the donor operator (operator that you are leaving)

What do I need to keep in mind before joining/porting to Vodafone?

Postpaid customers cannot port in/out if they have overdue bills. All existing credit available to Prepaid customers will expire upon successful porting and will not be carried forward. Call charges, plans and VAS offered by Vodafone may differ from that offered by your earlier service provider.

When can I make a porting request?
You are eligible to make a porting request if you have: An active connection that is at least 90 days old (as counted from the date of new activation or the last port date) No payments outstanding to the donor operator (operator that you are leaving) No requests pending for change of ownership of the number

What documents must a Prepaid/Postpaid customer submit while making a port in request to Vodafone?
The customer will have to submit the same documents as any new customer. These include the Vodafone Customer agreement form (CAF). You will also need a self-attested photograph and an address proof with your signature.

Where can I find a Vodafone MNP form?
MNP forms will be available along with the CAF/CIF form at all Vodafone Stores and channel partner outlets.

Can Prepaid subscribers port their numbers?
Yes, they can. Existing Prepaid subscribers can request either Prepaid or Postpaid services with the recipient operator. The same is the case with Postpaid.

Can numbers be ported across circles?
No, porting is only available within each circle.

Can a landline number be ported?
No.

Can a single employee series of corporate number be ported out?

Yes, as long as the employee submits an approval from the authorised signatory to the donor operator and it is also subject to meeting the porting criteria for the entire account.
